Anvanca Diet – Day 16: Total Calories 1500
Breakfast: The goal of a good low carb breakfast is the balance between saturated fat and protein. Protein and fat can help you feel satisfied, and protein can help you be more alert in morning. The challenge is to keep the saturated fat content as low as possible while still provide some variety.
Total Calories: 431, Protein: 34g, Carbs 11g, Fat 23g.
Have one bacon, egg, and cheese puff with your protein boost.
Protein Boost:
Add a ½ scoop of whey protein to 8oz of Almond milk, and mix well.
Lunch: The goal of a good lunch is the balance between protein, fiber, and fat. Given the low number of carbs, we can see an insulin spike. We provide for a mid-day snack so that you can keep your blood sugar stable. Total Calories: 372, Protein: 53g, Carbs: 11g, Fat: 9g
Roast Beef Rotisserie Style: You are permitted 6 slices – 3 ounces of lean roast beef rotisserie carved. Prepare one package of broccoli with cheese to accompany the roast beef. Finish the meal with a 1 cup of 1% fat cottage cheese.
Snack: Pistachios ½ cup shelled. Calories: 170, Protein 6g, Carbs 5g, Fat 14g,
Dinner:
Have a serving of Greek Mussles with a serving of broccoli.
Anvanca® Greek Mussles (serves 4)
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 shallots, thinly sliced
2 pounds mussels, cleaned and debearded
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 cup finely chopped Italian leaf parsley
1 cup Greek yogurt
Directions
In a large pot, over medium heat, sweat the shallots in olive oil until translucent. Raise the heat to high and add all of the mussels; cover and cook for 3 to 5 minute or until all of the mussels have opened. Take off the heat and transfer the mussels to a serving dish, leaving the liquid in the pot. Return the pot to the heat and add the wine and parsley to the liquid. Bring to a boil and reduce by 1/3. While reducing, cook the linguini in boiling water for around 8 minutes, less if you like al dente. Remove and drain. Take the pot off the heat and stir in the yogurt. Mix thoroughly. Pour the sauce over the mussels and linguini. Cook the broccoli according to the package instructions.
Dessert: ½ cup of Slow Churn Vanilla Ice Cream topped with ½ ounce of peanuts.
