Anvanca Diet – Day 26: Total Calories 1500
Breakfast: The goal of a good breakfast is the balance between fiber and protein. The combination of which has been shown to keep you feeling fuller, longer, so you eat less.
Anvanca®Power Oatmeal
Oatmeal (1 cup)
Almonds (10)
½ cup of either strawberries or blueberries
Splenda (2 packets)
Add 1 cup of oatmeal to a bowl. Add almonds, Splenda, and water. Use the microwave as per the package directions. Add the berries either pre or post cooking depending up your own personal tastes.
Protein Boost:
Add a 1 scoop of whey protein to 8oz of Almond milk, and mix well.
Lunch: The goal of a good lunch is the balance between protein, fiber, and fat. Given the low number of carbs, we can see an insulin spike. We provide for a mid-day snack so that you can keep your blood sugar stable.
Ham Rotisserie Style: You are permitted 6 slices – 3 ounces of lean ham rotisserie carved. Prepare one package of broccoli with cheese to accompany the ham. Finish the meal with a ½ cup of 1% fat cottage cheese.
Snack: Almonds (1oz), which is roughly 20 pieces.
Dinner:
Shepherd’s Pie (Serves 4)
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 onions (chopped)
1 pound lean ground beef (95% lean)
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 cup green beans
1 cup diced tomatoes
2 potatoes (cooked and mashed)
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 2 quart casserole dish with cooking spray. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook onion in oil for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the ground beef and basil, and cook and stir for 5 more minutes. Mix in the garlic, green beans, and tomatoes, and simmer for 5 minutes. Transfer beef mixture to prepared dish. In a mixing bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, egg, and water. Spread evenly over meat mixture. Bake in a preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until potatoes start to brown on top. Sprinkle with cheese, and continue cooking for 5 minutes. Serve with 2 cups of tossed, green salad, topped with 3 tablespoons of low calorie dressing, preferably vinaigrette or Italian.
Dessert: Treat yourself to ½ cup of slow-churned, no sugar added, vanilla ice-cream
