Anvanca Diet – Day 18: Total Calories 1200
Breakfast: The goal of a good low carb breakfast is the balance between saturated fat and protein. Protein and fat can help you feel satisfied, and protein can help you be more alert in morning. The challenge is to keep the saturated fat content as low as possible while still provide some variety.
Anvanca® Huevos Rancheros
4 egg whites
½ cup of Salsa
2 Low Carb Tortillas
Salt
Pepper
Spray a skillet with a non-fat cooking spray and heat it on medium until hot. Scramble eggs and cook on the skillet. While still warm, add the eggs to the tortillas and top with the cheddar. Once the cheddar has started to melt, add ½ the salsa. Roll the tortillas and add the remainder of the salsa. Serve.
Lunch: The goal of a good lunch is the balance between protein, fiber, and fat. Given the low number of carbs, we can see an insulin spike. We provide for a mid-day snack so that you can keep your blood sugar stable.
Ham Rotisserie Style: You are permitted 6 slices – 3 ounces of lean ham rotisserie carved. Prepare one package of broccoli with cheese to accompany the ham.
Snack: Almonds (1oz), which is roughly 20 pieces.
Dinner: Have one serving of chicken and one of broccoli.
Lime Marinade Chicken: (Serving, Serves 4)
5 tablespoons key lime juice
2 tablespoons honey
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 cup of cooked broccoli
In a sealable plastic bag, mix the key lime juice, honey, garlic, and lemon pepper. Place the chicken in the bag, seal, and shake to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator at least 30 minutes, turning the bag occasionally. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Grill the marinated chicken about 8 minutes on each side, until no longer pink and juices run clear. Discard remaining marinade.
While grilling, cook a cup of broccoli for 5 to 7 minutes or until tender (this is one serving for this meal).
