Anvanca® Male Mediterranean Diet: Meal Plan Day 10

Anvanca Diet – Day 10: Total Calories 1500

Breakfast
:  A breakfast, which is high in protein and complex carbohydrates, has been shown to provide the most staying power during the morning.  Each meal has been selected because it fits within the guidelines of the diet plan, and it provides a healthy dose of both nutrients.

Anvanca® Yogurt Parfait (Serves 1)

8 oz. of low fat or Greek plain vanilla yogurt

½ cup of strawberries

½ cup of blueberries

2 tablespoons of sliced almonds

1 tablespoon of honey

In a suitable size glass or bowl, pour ½ the honey on the bottom of the container.  Add ½ the yogurt.  Add either the blueberries or the strawberries.  Over the berries, place 1 tablespoon of almonds.  Add the remainder of the yogurt.  Add the other berries and ½ of the nuts.  Drizzle the remaining honey on top.

LunchThe goal of a good lunch is the balance between protein, fiber, and fat.  Given the low number of carbs, we can see an insulin spike.  We provide for a mid-day snack so that you can keep your blood sugar stable.

The Simple Salad:  Prepare 2 cups of tossed salad.  This can include lettuce and any other veggies that you like.  Only veggies – no croutons, bacon bits, etc..  To the salad, add a ⅓ cup of chick peas or garbanzo beans.  Drizzle 3 tbsp. of Fat-Free Italian Dressing (or another Fat Free variety).   Add a can of Lean Chicken Noodle Soup from Progresso® or similar brand

Snack:  ½ cup of shelled pistachios and a mini-box of raisins (about 50).

 

Dinner:

Anvanca® Citrus White Fish: (Serves 4)
3/8 orange, peeled, sectioned, and cut into bite-size

2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons canned pineapple chunks, un-drained

1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon diced fresh mango

1 tablespoon orange juice

1 teaspoon diced red bell pepper

1 packet of Splenda

1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro

2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons fresh orange juice

1 teaspoon olive oil

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon pineapple juice concentrate, thawed

1/2 pound swordfish, mahi-mahi, or similar meaty white fish steaks

2 cup of cooked brown rice
2 cup of cooked broccoli

In a medium-size bowl, combine oranges, pineapple chunks, mango, 1 tablespoon orange juice, diced red bell pepper, Splenda, and cilantro.  Mix well.  Add hot sauce to your heat liking. Refrigerate covered.  In a ceramic bowl, mix orange juice, olive oil, cayenne pepper, and pineapple juice concentrate.  Place fish in bowl, and turn to coat well.  Marinate the fish for 30 to 60 minutes.  Better to let it soak during the day while you are at work.  Grill each side for a total time of about 12 to 15 minutes, until cooked through.  Serve the grilled fish with the refrigerated citrus medley.

While grilling cook the rice and broccoli. Serving equals ½ cup of each.

Dessert:
  Treat yourself to a slice of ricotta cheese cake
