Anorectic Ingredients

Anorectic ingredients are defined as something that suppressing hunger, and anorectic ingredients are used to help people lose weight.  This review will cover the common types of anorectic ingredients and build the case why 5-HTP may be the best anorectic available today without a prescription.

What is Appetite?

Everyone knows what hunger is, but only now is science beginning to understand how it works and how to curb appetite.  Appetite, or the desire to eat, is a complex system, which includes the digestive system, the brain, and surprisingly, fat tissue.  The digestive track and fat cells send signals to the brain, which the brain interprets as being “hungry” or “full”.  Therefore, the brain is a key target when seeking an ingredient to curb appetite.

How Anorectic Ingredient Work?

Almost all anorectic compounds work on the central nervous system.  Anorectic ingredients operate by modifying the hunger signal to the brain.  One way is to overwhelm the “hungry” signal using stimulants.  The other is to enhance the “full” signal by increasing serotonin.

The first class of anorectic drugs are stimulants.

These anorectic stimulants are amphetamine or are related to them.  Amphetamines are more commonly known as “speed”.  Amphetamines have been used an anorectics for over 50 years, but the abuse potential and safety risks have limited their use.  Common anorectic drugs in this class are: Phentermine, Dexadrine® (dextramphetamine), Didrex®, etc.

The second class of anorectic ingredients affect serotonin levels

The other class of anorectic ingredients control the level of serotonin in the body.  Serotonin plays a key role in carrying the “full” signal to the brain.  Common anorectic ingredients in this class are: Prozac®, 5-HTP, etc.

5-HTP helps promote healthy serotonin levels

The body needs 5-HTP to make serotonin.  The body naturally converts 5-HTP from the diet into serotonin.  For this reason, scientists have taken an interest in studying 5-HTP as an anorectic.

5-HTP was shown to act as an anorectic

There have been several studies showing that the use of 5-HTP can work as an anorectic and lead to weight loss.  In one study, published in 1989, researchers showed an anorectic effect: 80% of participants reported a suppressed appetite when given 5-HTP.  These subjects were all overweight to obese and experienced weight loss.  All the subjects consumed less food, even though they made no conscious effort to do so.   They felt fuller and more satisfied making weight loss easier, which is the definition of an anorectic.

5-HTP acted as an anorectic and cut calories by up to 40%

In a clinical trial, participants reduced their calorie intake by almost 500 calories per day, which was an overall reduction of over 40%, clearly showing an anorectic effect.    Even more impressive, this anorectic effect was seen without dieting.

Anorectic 5-HTP yielded up to 5x more weight loss

5-HTP was given before meals for six weeks.  After the six weeks, researchers measured the anorectic ability of 5-HTP to curb appetite and to promote weight loss.  Scientists followed these women after the diet ended, and they found that 5-HTP continued to act as an anorectic, and the weight loss continued even after the diet ended.  These women lost nearly 5 times as much: 11 pounds versus the 2.4 pounds lost for those on placebo.

Advantages of 5-HTP over other anorectic ingredients

Unlike the other anorectic stimulants, 5-HTP is not a chemical cousin of amphetamines.  All the anorectic stimulants increase the heart rate and raises blood pressure. These increases are more pronounced in the products containing one of these stimulants and caffeine. Long-term elevation of blood pressure and heart rate raises the risk of heart problems, and in fact, many of the anorectic stimulants have been pulled off the market.

To be an anorectic, a weight loss pill doesn’t have to raise a person’s blood pressure. There are supplements like 5-HTP, which do not.   This is main reason why, Anvanca® chose to use 5-HTP  as an anorectic.

What makes Anvanca® Unique?

This weight loss pill contains 5-HTP, which acts as an anorectic as discussed, but it also contains two strong fat burning ingredients, green tea extract and forskolin.  Alone, the anorectic, 5-HTP,  provided significant, but modest weight loss.  Therefore, the two fat burner were added to the anorectic to boost its effects.  Since forskolin and green tea act differently, they were designed to work together to create an additive benefit.

What makes Anvanca truly unique and different is, Anvanca doesn’t leave you after the sale.  Anvanca embraces the idea that diet and exercise are crucial to any successful weight loss program.   Anvanca does more than pay lip-service to it. We provide comprehensive weight loss meal plans, exercise plans, and weight loss tracking tools  so you can be more successful.
