Drinking coffee and tea may help boost your metabolism naturally. Studies of green tea have found that the rates of fat burning increased by nearly 20% after the drinking of green tea. These studies also showed that this increase in fat burning translated into an increase in total energy use. Coffee was also shown to increase metabolism for up to three hours after drinking. The caffeine content in coffee appears to provide the benefit.
