Nicotine is a powerful appetite suppressant. It works on a number of switches in the brain’s weight control center. What’s interesting about this study is they found that these switches were not in the nicotine reward cycle, but in its withdrawal cycle. This isn’t where anyone assumed it would be. Really cool finding…but YEARS away from a use in humans.
