I’m glad that someone is looking at the effect of race on diet and weight loss. I haven’t seen much research in this area. If there is an underlying cultural or genetic link, it would be good to know so we tailor approaches, which best help people.
As I’m sure many of you are getting sick of hearing about, the problems with these types of studies is the focus exclusively on the weight lose itself and not on how sustainable this diet can be longer term.
Undoubted, one of these treatments will win, and my money is on the low-carbohydrate diet. As I’ve said before, short-term weight loss is nice, but long-term is the key. Here’s another $1,000,000 spent in clinical research, which unfortunately, will only fuel a useless debate instead of helping us answer the more fundamental question to people’s health: Which diet is the best long term solution to the obesity problem.
