Weight Loss: Top 5 Gut-Busting Meals at IHOP®

When you are dieting, you should probably avoid IHOP®. Many of their offerings greatly exceed the daily target for a dieting woman and for a dieting man, it’s very close. Even for non-dieting men and women, these are bad choices because they represent nearly your entire recommended daily intake in one sitting. When you are trying to lose weight, it is as important to know what not to eat as it is to know what to eat. The recommended calories you should eat per day are based upon your height, weight, age, and gender. As a rule of thumb, most people who are trying not to gain weight are in a range between 2,000 and 2,500 calories per day. Men are on the upper end and women are on the lower. The older you are, the fewer calories you need. When you are trying to lose weight, typically, you should set a target of 1,200 – 1,400 total calories a day for women and 1,800 – 2,000 for men. This will equate to a weight loss rate of one to two pounds per week.

Add a dessert, or one of their many gut busting appetizers,which are meals all their own, and you can be over two days of calories. Given that the calories of these items are hard to find, and often difficult to decipher, knowing what not to eat is key to sticking to your diet.
